Baby Day
Greg and Amanda Day head up to Hoosier Pass outside of Breckenridge Colorado to reveal the gender of their first baby in the most Colorado of ways - on skis!
Greg and Amanda came to Dustin Farrenkopf Films with a vision for revealing the gender of their first child - one that felt true to who they are. The plan: skin into the backcountry with a small group of close friends, drop in from the summit, and reveal the gender using colored smoke bombs attached to ski poles - while Amanda and friends watched from below.
Knowing there would be no second take, DFF built a small crew and carefully choreographed coverage across the mountain. Multiple POV cameras captured the skiers’ perspective, while I rigged a MoVI and snowboarded alongside the soon-to-be father to bring an immersive, real-time energy to the moment.
The result is a piece that blends scale, emotion, and spontaneity - capturing a once-in-a-lifetime reveal as it unfolded. The final video was later picked up and shared across the Denver news cycle.
